Choosing a set of bowls for yourself is not an easy task. We will try to advise you in any way we can.
If you are able visit our shop or one of our roadshows, you may be able try some of the selection of demonstration bowls before you buy.
These can also be borrowed to try out at your own club.

Gripped and Non-Gripped Bowls Most bowls can be bought either with grips or plain, without them. The bias of each model remains unchanged whether gripped on non-gripped. Gripped bowls are by far the more commonly preferred bowl. Each manufacturer provides grips of subtly different design, the choice mainly being personal preference.
The purpose is to allow the bowler to obtain a better grip and positioning of the bowl in the hand, giving improved control for firm or running shots & improved consistency. Gripped bowls are ideal for cold and damp conditions of play. The common fallacy that gripped bowls are more likely to be affected by wind is totally unfounded.
The non-gripped variation is quite often chosen by experienced bowlers for its comfortable feel and smooth release when delivering the bowl. |
Buying Bowls from Rink Bowls Equipment When buying a set of bowls there are a few things we would like to bring to your attention.
All bowls sets are subject to a £12 carriage charge regardless of the value of your order.
The centre emblem on the bowls you order will probably be different from the bowl pictured. If you would like a specific emblem or one to your own design please contact us and we will endeavour to help you.
Many ungripped bowls and some less popular combinations of weight and size may take a long time to be delivered as neither we or the suppliers may not have them in stock.
We will inform you promptly if we expect to take longer than 5 days to supply your bowls.
